About Boarddom

Welcome to Boarddom—where boredom ends and board games begin.

We’re parents of three on a mission to help families discover board games that are genuinely worth bringing to the table. Every review is based on real game nights with our children, giving us a front-row seat to what sparks laughter, what keeps kids engaged, and what ends up gathering dust on the shelf.

Why this blog exists

Two reasons. First, I want to give city parents credible screen-free alternatives — real games that can hold a child’s attention better than a tablet. Second, I think good board games quietly build character: strategic thinking, weighing risk against reward, teamwork, perseverance, and the hardest one of all — losing gracefully.

The one rule

I never review a game we haven’t actually played. Every review is based on real sessions at our table, with our own photos. No AI-generated round-ups of games nobody in the house has touched. If we haven’t played it, it isn’t here yet.

Some posts contain affiliate links — see the affiliate disclosure. They never change what we recommend or what we say about a game.

Coming later: a board-game rental service

We’re exploring a low-cost way for Singapore families to rent a game before deciding to buy. Want to hear when it’s ready? (No spam — just the occasional new review and rental news.)
